Snowboarding: 17 Year Old Redmond Gerard Showed the Best Result in Men’s Slopestyle

17 year old Redmond Gerard from the United States claimed gold in men’s slopestyle, winning score of 87.16. Having found out that he was the winner, the American teenager dropped to his knees in disbelief. He is the first American gold medalist of 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang. Moreover, Redmond is the first Winter Olympics medalist born in 2000s and the youngest American to win a medal in snowboarding at the Olympic Games.

The rest of the places at the podium were occupied by Canadian athletes. Maxence Parrot, a 5-time winner of Winter X Games, won silver with the score of 86.00 and Mark McMorris, a bronze medalist of 2014 Olympics in Sochi, gained bronze with the result of 85.20.
