Snowboarding: Anna Gasser Won Ladies’ Big Air
Austrian snowboarder Anna Gasser won a gold medal in Big Air event with the total score of 185.0 points. It’s the first Olympic medal for the athlete, who won 2017 World Championships and 2018 Winter X Games in Big Air.
Gasser told about her victory: “I was like, 'I really have to step up my game', and I'm so thankful I landed the trick I had in mind and that it was enough to win the gold today. That was a little risk I took. I wasn't sure, should I keep it safe, should I just do that trick again and get a better score, or should I risk it? But I watched the girls and everyone was so good, so I was like 'OK, I'm going to try to do this trick' and I was so happy when I landed it”.
American snowboarder Jamie Anderson, winner of 2014 and 2018 Olympics in slopestyle, earned a silver medal with 177.25 points. Zoi Sadowski-Synnott of New Zealand got 157.50 points and won a bronze medal.
