Johannes Thingnes Boe showed amazing results at 2018 PyeongChang Olympics. Johannes Thingnes Boe was born on May 16, 1993, in Stryn, Norway. He is the younger brother of biathlete Tarjei Boe. Johannes started to show great international results in 2010 and 2011, winning the Junior World Championships twice. And after his third victory at the Juniors, the biathlete was invited to the Norwegian senior National Team. In such a way, at the age of 19, he became the youngest Norwegian to be drafted for the national biathlon team.

Thingnes Boe debuted at the senior World Championships in 2015 and gathered the full set of medals, claiming gold in sprint, silver in relay and bronze in mixed relay. He was also among 10 best biathletes in individual and mass start, finishing 7th and 6th correspondingly.

At 2016 World Championships in Oslo, the Norwegian earned gold medals in mass start and relay as well as bronze in mixed relay. He was fourth in individual, sprint and pursuit. In 2017, Johannes won three silver medals in sprint, pursuit and mass start. That year, he was eighth in other disciplines.

Johannes Thingnes Boe debuted at the World Cup in 2012/13 season, but made a great breakthrough the following year, winning 5 races, 3 sprint and 2 pursuit. He finished the 2013/14 season on the overall third place as well as on the third place in sprint.

In 2014/15, the biathlete won 2 sprint races and finished on the overall 5th place. In 2015/16 season, he improved his results, rising to the overall second place after gaining 2 victories in sprint. He also was an overall bronze medalist in sprint and pursuit. The 2016/17 season ended with an overall bronze medal for Johannes. That season, he won two races in sprint and mass start.

To the date, 2017/18 season was the most successful for the Norwegian. He won 8 races in sprint, individual, pursuit and mass start. He won the title in individual discipline and was second in sprint, pursuit and mass start. He finished the season on the total second place.

Thingnes Boe debuted at the Winter Olympic Games in 2014 Sochi. He didn’t win any medals, finishing 11th in individual, 54th in sprint, 32nd in pursuit, 8th in mass start and 4th in relay.

However, the biathlete showed much better results in 2018 PyeongChang. He claimed gold in individual as well as silver medals in relay and mixed relay. He also finished 32nd in sprint, 21st in pursuit and 16th in mass start.
