Robert De Niro is paying tribute to his former costar Danny Aiello.The Irishman actor, 76, starred with Aiello in four films throughout their careers: his breakthrough role in Bang the Drum Slowly (1973), The Godfather Part II (1974), Once Upon a Time in America (1984) and 1992’s Mistress.Aiello died Thursday night at the age of 86.De Niro honored Aiello in a statement obtained by People, saying, “I am very saddened to hear of Danny’s passing.
