John Cusack Is Skeptical of the ‘High Fidelity’ TV Remake: ‘It’ll Suck’ If Nick Hornby Isn’t Involved

As you may have noticed over the last decade or so, reboots and remakes are all the rage these days.

Though often complained about by audiences, many of them do quite well — hence why Hollywood keeps churning them out.

Following the news that “High Fidelity” is set to be adapted as a TV series, John Cusack chimed in on the new project, saying “it’ll suck” if original author Nick Hornby isn’t involved.“The woman part seems good / the rest not so much – but it’s nicks book hope at least he’s involved- if he’s not – it’ll suck,” Cusack tweeted in response to a question about the project.

By “the woman part,” he’s referring to the fact that this new adaptation of Hornby’s novel will star a woman.The project, written by Veronica West and Sarah Kucserka of “Ugly Betty,” is slated for Disney’s forthcoming streaming service.
