DMX Pleads Guilty to Tax Fraud, Faces Jail Time
Rapper DMX pleaded guilty to tax fraud on Thursday, according to the Associated Press.
DMX, also known as Earl Simmons, admitted that he hid millions of dollars in revenue in order to dodge $1.7 million in taxes.The rapper faces up to five years in prison when he is sentenced in Manhattan federal court.
According to the AP, Judge Jed Rakoff set sentencing for March 29, a date which will probably be postponed given Simmons’ continued rehabilitation for drug and alcohol issues.
