Julián Castro May Run for the Presidency in 2020. If He Won, He’d be the First Latino President.

Julián Castro, who served as the United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development from 2014 to 2017 under the Obama administration, recently confirmed his possible run for the presidency in 2020.In response to a question about whether or not he’d make a play for the oval office, he told a crowd at the University of Texas in Austin last weekend, “I might.” During the event, organized by Voto Latino—a non-profit promoting civic engagement and voter participation in Latino communities—Castro’s presidential aspirations were on full display when he launched a bold critique of the current administration.
