Ice Hockey: American Team Claimed Women’s Ice Hockey Gold

In women’s ice hockey final, two old rivals, USA and Canada, played to find out who would get gold and silver medals in this event. The game ended with the score 2:2 in normal time. Hilary Knight made her team lead in the first period. Haley Irwin leveled the score in the second period and 5 minutes later, Canada was in the leading position thanks to Marie-Philip Poulin. The score was leveled by Monique Lamoreux-Morando in the third period.

In overtime, Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson scored the decisive goal and brought victory to her team. Thus, the US team gained their first Olympic title since 1998.
