Cassie Sharpe’s path to stardom started in 2014 after she joined the Canadian National Halfpipe Team. She gained a silver medal in halfpipe at 2015 FIS World Championships. A curious fact is that her brother Darcy also became a silver medalist of that World Championships, but in Big Air snowboarding. The good results at those competitions inspired the freestyle skier a lot and she added some tricks to her performances. For example, she became the first woman to use a cork nine trick in competition.

Sharpe competed at the World Cup for the first time in 2012 Mammoth and finished 17th. In 2015 Tignes, she won her first gold medal in halfpipe. Later, she was the halfpipe winner of 2017 Tignes and Cardrona, 2018 Snowmass and Tignes.

In 2016, Cassie debuted at the X Games and claimed gold in superpipe. At 2018 X Games, she earned a bronze medal in the same discipline. She also competed in halfpipe at the North American Cup. In 2014, she won the event in Aspen, having also 2 silver and 2 bronze medals in her collection.

Participating in her first Winter Olympic Games, Sharpe managed to claim gold in women’s halfpipe with the best score of 95.80.

After the race, the skier shared her emotions with the journalists: “I’ve been training so hard to get that run consistent and I just wanted to come out here strong with that first run. After I landed that I was like ‘OK, this is it, you can do this, if you land the second run you can bump your score. That was kind of the moment where I was like ‘I can’t believe I’m here’. It was wild. It hasn’t really sunk in yet, but it’s just an incredible feeling. Just putting all my hard work into this, it’s just everything wrapped up into one”.

All in all, Cassie Sharpe seems to be a hard worker, who always tries to improve her skills and show something new to her fans. Her efforts have finally started to get rewards and much more achievements are ahead.
