ESPYs 2018: Full list of ESPY Award winners for 26th ceremony hosted by Danica Patrick
Winners for the 2018 ESPYs were announced Wednesday, June 18, during ABC’s live ceremony hosted by pro racer Danica Patrick.
The ESPY Awards, which honor the best achievements in sports, have been handed out annually since 1993.
This year’s champions were decided by fans voting online at ESPYs.com after the 2018 nominations were determined by the ESPY Select Nominating Committee.
ABC started hosting this kudosfest in 2015 after it was initially broadcast on sister network ESPN.Athletes from the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang dominated many of the categories for this 26th ceremony.
As for the top two categories, Best Male Athlete featured a battle between Tom Brady (New England Patriots), Jose Altuve (Houston Astros), James Harden (Houston Rockets) and Alexander Ovechkin (Washington Capitals).
And the Best Female Athlete competitors were Mikaela Shiffrin (Ski), Sylvia Fowles (Minnesota Lynx), Chloe Kim (Snowboard) and Julie Ertz (Chicago Red Stars/United States Women’s National Soccer
