Curling: Sweden Wins in Women’s Event

Sweden wins Olympic gold in women's curling

In the final of women’s curling competitions, Sweden played against South Korea. As a result, the Swedish athletes won with the score of 8:3. The team consisted of Anna Hasselborg, Sara McManus, Agnes Knochenhauer, Sofia Mabergs and Jennie Waahlin. Previously, the Swedish team was a gold medalist at 2006 and 2010 Winter Olympics and gained silver in 2014 Sochi.

Hasselborg is really proud of her team: “We did the game of the week when we needed it in an Olympic final. I'm so proud of my girls. It was an amazing game to play. When we were in the final I just focused on every shot. It felt nervous, but I was just there in the moment. It was when the handshake comes up, then it felt amazing”.

Her teammate Agnes Knochenhauer also shared her opinion: “Our own pressure was the most pressure. We really wanted to do this and we knew we could if all of us played really well”.

Thus, the hosts, South Korean curlers, became silver medalists. The team included Kim Eun-jung, Kim Kyeong-ae, Kim Seon-yeong, Kim Yeong-mi and Kim Cho-hi.
