Cross-Country Skiing: Norway Finished First in Women’s 4 × 5 Km Relay

Ingvild Flugstad Oestberg, Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen, Ragnhild Haga and Marit Bjoergen

Norwegian team, consisting of Ingvild Flugstad Oestberg, Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen, Ragnhild Haga and Marit Bjoergen, won gold in the 4 × 5 km relay after finishing in 51:24.3. This medal became the 13th one for Marit Bjoergen, making the cross-country skier the most successful Winter Olympian of all time along with her countryman Ole Einar Bjoerndalen, who also owns 13 medals.

Moreover, this medal became the third one for Marit Bjoergen in 2018 PyeongChang as she won silver in 15km pursuit and bronze in 10km freestyle. By this victory, Ingvild Flugstad Oestberg gained her third Olympic medal as she is a gold and silver medalist of 2014 Olympics. Ragnhild Haga won her second gold medal in PyeongChang as she is the winner of 10 km individual race. Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen gained her first Olympic medal.

The team from Sweden, which included Anna Haag, Charlotte Kalla, Ebba Anderson and Stina Nilsson, gained silver after finishing in 51:26.3. And, the team of Olympic Athletes from Russia, consisting of Natalia Nepryaeva, Yulia Belorukova, Anastasia Sedova and Anna Nechaevskaya, won bronze after finishing in 52:07.6.
