Hanna Huskova is a Belarusian freestyle skier, who competes in aerials. Though she doesn’t have a huge collection of medals, she is a very talented athlete, who proved that at 2018 Winter Olympics, winning a gold medal in aerials. Let’s find out some facts about the life and career of the skier.

Hanna Huskova was born on August 28, 1992, in Minsk, Belarus. She started to practice freestyle skiing at the age of 7. By the age of 10, she already could do high jumps onto the snow. Besides doing sports, Huskova also managed to take care about her education. The athlete is a graduate of the Belarusian State University of Physical Education in Sports Studies.

Curious facts about Hanna are that she is interested in fashion and likes tattoos. She is also fond of photography.

Huskova debuted at the European Cup in 2006, being only 15 years old. She rose to her first podium the same season, being third in aerials. She gained the first victory at 2009 Europa Cup in Raubichi. At the Europa Cup, the athlete managed to win 11 events as well as be on the podium 10 times more with 5 silver and 5 bronze medals.

In 2009, Hanna made a debut at the World Cup in Moscow and finished on the 24th place. She reached her first World Cup podium in 2015 Lake Placid, being a bronze medalist. At 2017 Secret Garden, the freestyle skier won her first World Cup event. In 2018 Lake Placid, she added a silver medal to her collection.

At 2012 Junior World Ski Championships, the athlete earned a silver medal. She participated in 2009, 2011 and 2015 World Ski Championships, but didn’t get any medals, showing the best result in 2015 Kreischberg, being on the 6th place.

Hanna Huskova debuted at 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. She was placed 21st in aerials. 2018 Winter Olympics were more successful for the athlete as she claimed gold in aerials. In the final round, she scored 96.14 points. Despite the windy weather, the athlete managed to perform her task perfectly.

But the freestyle skier was proud not only of her own victory but also oh her teammate, Alla Tsuper, who finished on the 4th place: "(Alla and I) stood as one and had ambitious goals to see gold, silver and bronze medal go to Belarus. It was not to be but nonetheless I am very proud of every one and we did everything we could".

So, the success of Hanna Huskova at 2018 Winter Olympics is really deserved. The athlete worked very hard since childhood in order to bring a gold Olympic medal home. And we hope, that we will witness her other great achievements soon.
