Alpine Skiing: Austrian Marcel Hirscher Wins in Men’s Combined Discipline

Austrian alpine skier Marcel Hirscher became an Olympic champion in the combined discipline, which included downhill and slalom races. He finished with the total time of 2:06.52. After the downhill race, the athlete was only on the 12th place, but his best result in slalom brought Marcel a gold medal.

It’s the second medal of Marcel Hirscher at Winter Olympics. In 2014, he won a silver medal in slalom. Moreover, he is 6 time overall winner of the World Cup in a row from 2012 to 2017.

Two representatives of France took silver and bronze medals. Alexis Pinturault, a bronze medalist of 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi in giant slalom, became a silver medalist, finishing in 2:06.75, and Victor Muffat-Jeandet won bronze with the result of 2:07.54.
