2018 FIFA World Cup: The Minimal Victories of Portugal, Uruguay and Spain

On June 20, each of the three matches at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Portugal vs. Morocco, Uruguay vs. Saudi Arabia and Iran vs. Spain, finished with the minimal wins and only one goal was scored in each game.

In the game with Morocco, Portugal gained its first victory at the 2018 World Cup with the score 1:0. On the 4th minute, Cristiano Ronaldo headed from very close range to the centre of the goal after an assist from Joao Moutinho.

Ronaldo, who has already scored 4 goals in 2 games in 2018 Russia, was voted as Man of the Match. The yellow cards were shown to Medhi Benatia (Morocco) and Adrien Silva (Portugal).

Uruguay gained another minimal victory at the 2018 FIFA Cup, this time over Saudi Arabia. In such a way, the South Americans secured their place in the Round of 16. The goal was scored on the 23rd minute by forward Luis Suarez, assisted by Carlos Sanchez.

The Barcelona star and the author of the only goal in the match, Luis Suarez, was called Man of the Match. Moreover, Suarez became the first Uruguay player in history to score goals at 3 World Cups. He also scored 3 goals at 2010 South Africa and 2 goals at 2014 Brazil. No yellow cards were shown during the game.

Spain earned its first win at this World Cup after finishing the game against Iran with the score 0:1. The only goal was scored on the 54th minute by Spanish forward Diego Costa, who currently plays for Atletico Madrid.

Diego Costa, who has already scored three times in 2 matches, was voted as Man of the Match. The yellow cards were given to Iran players Vahid Amiri and Omid Ebrahimi.
