2018 FIFA World Cup: France and Argentina, Croatia and Denmark Will Meet in the Round of 16

On June 26, after the final matches of the group round in groups C and D, 4 more teams, which got to the Round of 16, became known. They are France, Denmark, Argentina and Croatia. Thus, we will watch the games France vs. Argentina as well as Croatia vs. Denmark. But now, let’s have a look at the games results.

Peru gained a victory over Australia, 0:2. Andre Carrillo scored the first goal of the match on the 18th minute after an assist from Paolo Guerrero. In the second period, on the 50th minute, Guerrero scored his own goal for Peru. However, neither Peru nor Australia will continue their path at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Andre Carrillo was voted as Man of the Match. The yellow cards were shown to Mile Jedinak, Yoshimar Yotun, Daniel Arzani, Tomas Rogic, Paolo Hurtado and Mark Milligan.

The match between Denmark and France, ended with no goals scored, 0:0. However, the both teams will compete in the round of 16. Ngolo Kante was called Man of the Match. The yellow card was received by Mathias Joergensen.

Island lost to Croatia, 1:2. Thus, Croatians will continue to compete at the World Cup. Milan Badelj scored the first goal of Croatia on the 53rd minute. Iceland evened the score on the 76th minute after Gylfi Sigurdsson converted the penalty. On the 90th minute, Ivan Perisic brought the victory to Croatia with his goal, assisted by Milan Badelj.

Milan Badelj was called Man of the Match for a goal scored and an assist. Marko Pjaca, Emil Hallfredsson, Alfred Finnbogason, Tin Jedvaj, Birkir Mar Saevarsson got yellow cards.

A very tense match between Nigeria and Argentina ended with the win of the latter, 1:2. Argentina got to the knockout phase. On the 14th minute, Lionel Messi opened the score after an assist from Ever Banega. On the 51st minute, Nigeria evened the score after a penalty, converted by Victor Moses. The score turned to 1:2 on the 86th minute, when Marcos Rojo scored a goal, assisted by Gabriel Mercado.

Barcelona star Lionel Messi was voted as Man of the Match. Leon Balogun, Javier Mascherano, Ever Banega, John Obi Mikel and Lionel Messi were shown yellow cards.
