2018 FIFA World Cup: England, Belgium, Japan and Colombia Are Participants of the Round of 16

On June 28, the final matches of the group phase at the 2018 FIFA World Cup took place. Poland, Colombia, Tunisia and Belgium earned victories. As a result, in the round of 16, England will meet with Colombia, Belgium will play with Japan.

Japan lost to Poland, 0:1. However, Poland will leave the World Cup while Japan will play in the knockout phase. The only goal in the match was scored by Polish defender, Jan Bednarek, after an assist from Rafal Kurzawa.

Jan Bednarek was voted as Man of the Match. Tomoaki Makino received a yellow card.

Colombia gained a victory over Senegal with the minimal score, 0:1. Senegal will go home while Colombia will continue to struggle for the World Cup. On the 74th minute, Yerry Mina headed to the high centre of the goal, assisted by Juan Quintero.

Yerry Mina was Man of the Match. Johan Mojica and Mbaye Niang got yellow cards.

The central match of the day between England and Belgium, who were the strongest in Group G, ended with the minimal victory of the latter, 0:1. But the both teams proceed to the next stage. The goal was scored by Adnan Januzaj, assisted by Youri Tielemans.

Adnan Januzaj was called Man of the Match. Yellow cards were shown to Belgians Youri Tielemans and Leander Dendoncker.

The match between Panama and Tunisia ended with the score 1:2 with the victory of the latter. By the way, Tunisia earned their first World Cup win in 40 years. On the 33rd minute, Yassine Meriah scored a goal to his own net, making Panama lead. On the 51st minute, Fakhreddine Ben Youssef corrected the situation after an assist of Wahbi Khazri, marking the 2500th goal in the tournament history. On the 66th minute, Wahbi Khazri brought victory to his team, assisted by Oussama Haddadi.

Fakhreddine Ben Youssef was elected as Man of the Match. Ferjani Sassi, Anice Badri, Ricardo Aliva, Gabriel Gomez, Ghilane Chaalali and Luis Tejada got yellow cards.
