2018 FIFA World Cup: Draw Between Denmark and Australia, Victories of France and Croatia

On June 21, France and Croatia gained victories, securing the places in the Round of 16. The match between Denmark and Australia ended with a draw.

In an even game, Denmark and Australia really tried hard to bring victories to their countries, but the match ended with the score 1:1. The score was opened on the 7th minute. After an assist from Nicolai Joergensen, midfielder Christian Eriksen left footed to the top left corner. Australia answered on the 38th minute, Mile Jedinak converted the penalty with a right footed shot to the bottom right corner.

Christian Eriksen was voted as Man of the Match. Yussuf Poulsen and Pione Sisto, both from Denmark, were shown yellow cards. Poulsen, the foul of whom led to a penalty, gained his second yellow card at the World Cup and it means that he will miss the next match of the Danish team.

France earned a minimal victory over Peru with the score 1:0. In such a way, Peru will fail to get to the Round of 16, while France will continue its path. The only goal in the match was scored by French forward Kylian Mbappe on the 34th minute.

Kylian Mbappe, who currently plays for PSG, was called Man of the Match. Moreover, the French forward became the France’s youngest ever goalscorer at the World Cup, being 19 years and 183 days old. During the game, the yellow cards were given to Blaise Matuidi and Paul Pogba (France), Paolo Guerrero and Pedro Aquino (Peru).

Croatia gained a victory over Argentina with the score 0:3, securing its place in the Round of 16. Lionel Messi didn’t help his team with his goals in this match. Argentina is about to lose its place in the Round of 16, though everything will be decided after the final matches of the group stage.

With no goals in the first period, Croatia opened the score after a goal of Ante Rebic on the 53rd minute. On the 80th minute, midfielder Luka Modric scored the second goal, assisted by Marcelo Brozovic. And the final point in the match was put on the 91st minute. Ivan Rakitic scored the goal after an assist from Mateo Kovacic.

Real Madrid star, Luka Modric, was voted as Man of the Match. 7 yellow cards were shown in the game to Croatians Ante Rebic, Mario Mandzukic, Sime Vrsaljko, Vedran Corluka and Argentinians Gabriel Mercado, Nicolas Otamendi, Marcos Acuna.
