2018 FIFA World Cup: Belgium, Mexico and Germany Earned Victories

On June 23, the teams of Belgium, Mexico and Germany won in their games against Tunisia, Korea Republic and Sweden.

The match between Belgium and Tunisia ended with 7 goals scored. Belgium gained a victory with the score 5:2. The score was opened on the 6th minute after Eden Hazard converted the penalty. On the 16th minute, Romelu Lukaku scored the second goal of the Belgium after an assist from Dries Mertens. On the 18th minute, Tunisia answered with a header from Dylan Bronn, assisted by Wahbi Khazri. In the end of the first time, on the 45+3 minute, Lukaku made a double, being assisted by Thomas Meunier.

On the 51st minute, the Belgians scored their 4th goal. Eden Hazard made a double, assisted by Toby Alderweireld. On the 90th minute, Michy Batshuayi marked the 5th goal of the Belgians. On the 90+3 minute, Tunisian Wahbi Khazri led the score to 5:2, assisted by Youri Tielemans.

Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard was voted Man of the Match. He didn’t only score 2 goals, but also initiated many attacks of his team. The only yellow card in the game was received by Ferjani Sassi from Tunisia.

The match South Korea-Mexico ended with the win of the latter, 1:2. On the 26th minute, Mexico scored its first goal. Carlos Vela converted the penalty to the bottom right corner. In the second period, on the 66th minute, Chicharito scored the second goal of the Mexico, assisted by Hirving Lozano. On the 90+3 minute, South Korea scored their only goal in the match. Son Heung-Min left footed to the top left corner after an assist from Lee Jae-Sung.

West Ham United striker Javier Hernandez, also known as Chicharito, was called Man of the Match. The yellow cards were shown to Korean players Kim Young-Gwon, Lee Yong, Lee Seung-Woo and Jung Woo-Young.

Germany earned a victory over Sweden in the additional time. The regular time ended with the score 1:1. The first goal was scored by Sweden. On the 32nd minute, Ola Toivonen right footed to the bottom left corner, assisted by Viktor Claesson. On the 49th, the score was evened by German Marco Reus, assisted by Mario Gomez. In the additional time, on the 90+5 minute, Toni Kroos brought a victory to his team.

Borussia Dortmund forward Marco Reus was voted as Man of the Match. Jerome Boateng (Germany) received two yellow cards and, as a result, red one for a bad foul. Albin Ekdal and Sebastian Larsson were shown yellow cards.
