Ashton Swinford is the Creator and Executive Producer of sketch comedy troupe The Lucilles and guerrilla performance art project The Invisible Theater. She is also a published vocalist, musician, and songwriter Quazar and the lead singer of the indie rock band WEST. Ashton has performed live shows with performance artist Marina Abramovic and comedy legend Bob Zmuda, and has shared the screen with actress Zooey Deschanel in addition to her own creative projects producing music videos and sketch comedy. She has also worked closely with acting teacher Robyn Lee, whom she studied under at Stella Adler, to publish a book on acting called In The Moment: The Art of Being as well as Co-Found the In The Moment Repertory in New York.Born and raised in NYC, Ashton Swinford's career began as a spoken word artist, a passion she cultivated into acting through experimental theater and studying full time at the Stella Adler Studio NYC. By the time she graduated from the Stella Adler studio she had worked with theater companies The Lark, Labyrinth, Manhattan Repertory, Red Fern, and Vampire Cowboys as an actress and assistant director.Ashton went on to star in many indie and short films, the first of which, 200mg of Normality, led her to the Tribeca film festival where the project featured. Soon after her passion for acting and film led her to Hollywood, following the LA premiere of her project Love Requiem. Her first few weeks in town she booked the role of Rochelle on FOX's New Girl opposite Zooey Deschanel, and began studying comedy with Lesly Kahn. From there she formed The Lucilles all female sketch comedy troupe, while continuing to pursue performance art and guerrilla theater - landing her the starring role in Marina Abramovic's controversial MOCA performance, and the subsequent HBO documentary Marina Abramovic: The Artist is Present. Ashton continued on to co-star in The Comedy Store's four month run of The Tony Clifton show starring Bob Zmuda, where she performed stand up and danced alongside the comedy legend. She has appeared on Scott Aukerman's Comedy Bang! Bang!, the Andy Dick Show, PAX TV, and Rat Pack podcasts, in addition to various improv and guerrilla theater performances with Bob Zmuda's Tony Clifton character. Today Ashton Swinford continues to create and produce her own projects in comedy, performance art, and music - including the recording of an upcoming album as the lead singer of indie rock band WEST.
