Short Track Speed Skating: Wu Dajing Won the 500m Race and Set a New Olympic Record

Chinese athlete Wu Dajing claimed gold in men’s 500m. Moreover, he set a new Olympic and world record by finishing in 39.584 seconds. It’s the fourth Olympic medal for Wu. He won silver and bronze at 2014 Winter Olympics and gained silver in 5000m relay in PyeongChang.

Hwang Dae-hean of South Korea finished in 39.854 seconds and became a silver medalist. Lim Hyo-jun, another representative of South Korea and a winner of 1500m, won bronze after finishing in 39.919 seconds. Canadian short track speed skater Samuel Girard, who gained gold in 1000m and bronze in 5000m relay, finished 4th with the time of 39.987 seconds.
