Nordic Combined: Johannes Rydzek Earned Gold in Large Hill/10 km

Today, the podium in Nordic Combined consisted only of German athletes. Johannes Rydzek won the large hill/10 km event in PyeongChang. He finished with the total time of 23 minutes 52.5 seconds and jumped for 133.5 m. It’s the first individual Olympic medal for Johannes. At 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympics, he was a bronze and silver medalist in team large hill event.

Fabian Rieble, a silver and bronze medalist of 2014 Olympics in individual and team large hill, earned a silver medal by finishing in 23 minutes 52.9 seconds. And Eric Frenzel became a bronze medalist with the finishing time of 23 minutes 53.3 seconds. It’s the fifth Olympic medal for Eric as he won bronze in relay in 2010, gold in normal hill and silver in relay in 2014 as well as gold in normal hill in 2018.
