David Wise became the winner of men’s halfpipe event. The American gained 97.20 points. It’s the second consecutive gold medal of the athlete at Winter Olympics as he also gained gold in 2014 Sochi.

Wise told: “Today was just an amazing day of halfpipe skiing. Seeing Alex [Ferreira] land his runs, all three runs, and the quals that he did, just inspired me. I really wanted to land a run. I walked out of a ski twice. For both runs I walked out of a ski. Not really a mistake I made, but it was just unfortunate, so I had to put it all down on the third run, and I pulled it off”. He also added: "I'm honestly just in disbelief right now. Winning, losing, whatever, just the fact that I landed that run in the moment when it needed to happen, on that that third run, just felt so good".

Another American, Alex Ferreira, became a silver medalist with the score of 96.40 points. A representative of New Zealand, Nico Porteous, gained 94.80 points and won a bronze medal.
