Alpine Skiing: Michelle Gisin Is an Olympic Champion in Women’s Combined
Michelle Gisin, an alpine skier from Switzerland, claimed gold in women’s combined. She finished with the total time of 2 minutes 20.90 seconds. It’s the first Olympic medal for Michelle, who is a silver medalist of 2017 World Championships in alpine skiing.
The skier shared her emotions: “It’s amazing to be on the podium with two such amazing skiers and I knew I would have to produce the slalom of my life just to have a chance to get that gold medal. I’m just so excited that I found my run. I’ve been looking for that run the whole season and it came at just the perfect moment”.
Mikaela Shiffrin, gold medalist in giant slalom, won a silver medal with the total time of 2 minutes 21.87 seconds. And another athlete from Switzerland, silver medalist in slalom Wendy Holdener, gained bronze with time of 2 minutes 22.34 seconds.
